Chart a course to smooth seas with a Social Security disability attorney.

Know when to hire a lawyer.

Are you unable to work due to a disability or debilitating illness?

Do you need help filing a claim? Has your claim been denied?

Concerned you’ll be turned away because you can’t pay for a lawyer?

We can help. If you're a hardworking person who has paid the required amount of your Social Security taxes and your doctor says you are no longer able to work, you're probably entitled to Social Security disability benefits. After a waiting period, Social Security disability eligibility also allows you to receive Medicare benefits — even if you're under age 65. If you are short on earnings, you may still be eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid.

We get paid only when we win. Our fee is the same no matter when we begin work on your case, so it's in your best interest to retain us early — after you get your first denial. If you wait until you have a hearing date to get an attorney, that means we may not have sufficient time to properly prepare your case. Let us take a weight off your shoulders by filing your appeals carefully and professionally. When you retain us, you will no longer have to worry about your case.

Don't wait. Talk to an Eau Claire social security disability lawyer today.

I was at my wits' end, having faced repeated denials. Fortunately, I discovered Schilling Law, and Jill guided me through the complex disability process. Recently, I received a disability review notice, which significantly heightened my anxiety. I reached out to her again, ten years later. Within days, I received comprehensive support, including assistance with forms and reassurances regarding potential outcomes. My paperwork was completed and submitted ahead of schedule. I am deeply grateful for Jill's ongoing support and expertise.

Jill Schilling

Eau Claire Social Security Disability Lawyer

Jill Schilling grew up on a farm in Abbotsford, WI. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree from UW-Eau Claire and a law degree from UW-Madison in 1983. She fell in love with the Eau Claire area as an undergrad and decided to permanently relocate here after law school. Jill is an avid sailor and takes many summer trips to Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. She also enjoys bicycling and cross-country skiing. She made the trek to ski the Birkebiener, albeit very slowly, for over 10 years.

Jill's practice concentrates on Social Security disability claims. She is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR), founding member of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, former board member of the Chippewa Valley Civil Liberties Union, volunteer for the Wisconsin ACLU, and member of the Wisconsin State Bar fee arbitration panel. She has also been a volunteer for TRY Mediation and the Voter Protection Team.

Unlike national Social Security disability "mills," you will meet with Jill in person several times before any hearing on your case. Plus, you are always just a phone call or email away from her assistant. Jill is a member of the Chippewa Valley community. She knows the judges and has decades of experience advocating for disability benefits. She has a deep understanding of the process, the paperwork, and the very specialized Social Security disability rules and regulations.

I'm referred Social Security cases from attorneys in the Eau Claire area because they know I bring experience and empathy to my job. I have personal experience with my late husband's case so I understand how it feels to wait what feels like endlessly and to finally win. There is no greater joy for me then when clients get awarded the benefits they deserve and need.
